Our world is home to 39,000,000 totally blind and 246,000,000 visually impaired people, most of whom are easily curable. Unfortunately, 90% of these patients live in developing countries with virtually no access to medical care, the hope of seeing again is nothing more than a mirage.
Since 30 years ago, ORBIS has been a forerunner in saving sight worldwide. As we shortly plan to greatly expand our sight saving footprint by upgrading to a new generation Flying Eye Hospital, your donation will bring hope to even more of the preventably blind over the world. Students can simply donate HK$20 or over for each of our very special pins. And over the coming months, we will also be delighted to hold talks about blindness and the need to protect one's eyes for students.
Participating schools will receive an ORBIS acknowledgement certificate or a special "Thank You" certificate if they have supported World Sight Day for at least three consecutive years.
The names of all participating schools will appear in an acknowledgement advertisement in Hong Kong Economic Times.
The following "World Sight Day" supporters will receive an ORBIS Pin*:
- Students donating HK$20 or over
- Staff members donating HK$100 or over
*The pins are made of DC-10 aircraft material. Every pin has unique appearance!
Like to join us in supporting 2012 World Sight Day? Then please simply complete and return the enrollment form to 2877 1297 before Friday September 28!
