On Monday October 29, 2012, ORBIS Hong Kong hosted an inaugural Charity Gala at the Kowloon Shangri-la to celebrate our first 30 years of saving sight. In addition to making this momentous year seem even more special, the evening also had a second, equally important mission - to help raise funds for ORBIS' next generation Flying Eye Hospital. Attended by 330 kind-hearted guests, the event was a great success, raising over HK$1,300,000 and a treasure trove of priceless smiles among attendees!

In addition to unforgettable performances by inspirational 16-years old blind singer, Michelle Siu, and renowned international pianist Ernest So, highlights included everyone's "painting" of a spectacular light picture with mini-torches. Other standout moments came during a fierce but good-natured live auction for unique lots such as ORBIS Ambassador Sandra Ng's first-ever oil painting and a commemorative pin collection. Other very popular attractions included a genuinely one-of-a-kind accessory necklace designed by Mr. Dennis Chan from leading jewelry brand Qeelin and a priceless MD-10 Flying Eye Hospital sight-saving trip.
