ORBIS 'Shiny Eyes' Online Fundraising Competition - result announcement

Our recently-completed ORBIS Online Fundraising Competition was a great success, attracting seven entrants whose collective talents, interests and skills raised some HK$27,800.

"The Most Creative Shiny Eyes Activity Award" winner was Alan Ying who drew and shared a picture representing his care for the blind with other ORBIS supporters. Alan also made a birthday wish that he would raise HK$8,888 for ORBIS. The number was so exact because when viewed horizontally, the number 8 looks like a pair of eyes filled with the hope of seeing again and so perfectly matched the competition's "Shiny Eyes" theme. Alan hopes that his birthday wish as well as other people's dreams of having their sight saved or restored will soon come true!

Along with his sponsors, Alan will be joining a 2013 ORBIS Blind Experience Workshop at which everyone will be guided through a traditional African village in total darkness by a sightless leader.

"Top Fundraiser Award" winner, Amy Cheung, received some 40 donors' support and raised over HK$13,000 during her mung honey charity sale!

We look forward to welcoming Amy and some of her sponsors aboard the ORBIS MD-10 Flying Eye Hospital (FEH) during its upcoming goodwill visit to Hong Kong.
