This year marks the 15th Student Ambassador Campaign (SAC). Over the years, this hugely popular and influential competition has attracted thousands of local students from over 500 secondary and tertiary educational institutions.
ORBIS has long been committed to weaving the promotion of eye-care messages into youngsters’ daily studies. As in previous years, the SAC will encourage students to leverage their creativity in both raising funds and awareness of eye-care issues through activities such as casual wear days and charity sales. The campaign echoes the aims of “Other Learning Experience (OLE)”, and it can also refine participants’ leadership and communication skills by organizing different fundraising events.
Video-making workshop and School drama tour
This year’s SAC will also feature a video-making workshop hosted by famous director Heiward Mak. A short video recording the event highlights and spreading ORBIS’ message should be submitted for each enrolled team. Open to the members of all competing secondary and tertiary school teams, the workshop will include a wealth of useful tips about turning great ideas into fantastic videos using simple, low-cost techniques. To further add to the awareness of our sight-saving projects among schoolkids, Heiward and Playtime will also be organizing an entertaining school drama tour.
