Are you yearning to be different? Consider these fundraising ideas for your next event.
Host a Fundraising Party
In June 2009, Wesley Wong, Cassia Mak and Tracy Lam held a special “The Black Night” fundraising party with partial profits from the event going to help the blind. Specific activities to promote the importance of saving sight included a special “experience blindness” session during which guests underwent total blackness.
"Donate" Your Talents
Do you have any special interests, talents or skills such as painting, photography or even performing? Ms Florence Cheung recently showed off her collages at an exhibition to raise funds for ORBIS! Why not follow her lead?
“Ginger up” your initiative
Last Christmas, Isabel Tang home-baked some gingerbread men and encouraged her friends to buy them as Christmas gifts on behalf of ORBIS. Her thoughtful and meaningful treats having proved popular with not only friends, but also many others, she soon found herself baking a few hundred more! Said Isabel: "To cope with the rush in the two weeks before Christmas, I hurried straight home to bake more supplies." Making the gingerbread men, she even missed out on several parties! But one more gingerbread man sold, one more hope gained for the blind. She said that helping blind made her efforts all worthwhile and ensured she enjoyed her best ever Christmas!
Personalize an online fundraising page
This is an easy and convenient way to raise funds for ORBIS. If you have an inspiring fundraising idea but are too busy to take action, an online fundraising page could be a powerful tool for you to share your fundraising initiative.
