Since its 1999 launch, the ORBIS Student Ambassador Campaign (SAC) has inspired over 500 local secondary and tertiary students to organize fundraising projects. This year, we sincerely invite your school or college to once again support us by creating innovative events that both raise funds and awareness of the plight facing needlessly blind people worldwide.
1. Encourage youngsters to discover their compassion by making a meaningful contribution to community service.
2. Raise youngsters' awareness of blindness problems and the urgent need to save sight worldwide.
3. Promote eyecare messages in local schools.
4. Raise funds to support ORBIS' global sight-saving work.

The 11th (Year 2009-2010) ORBIS Student Ambassador Campaign Highlights
2009/10 Student Ambassadors Visit Vietnam
Our 2009/10 SAC winners were: Hong Kong International School, Ying Wah College and Hoi Ping Chamber of Commerce Secondary School. Two representatives from each school were subsequently nominated by their teammates to join our July 20 to 23, 2010 sight-saving mission to Vietnam. ORBIS Student Ambassadors Chloe, Joyce, Nam Kit, Eric, Justin and Gary subsequently joined forces with Team Captain, Roland, and Assistant Team Captain, Kitterick, to witness our front line sight-saving efforts in Vietnam.
Our winning Student Ambassadors did not only visit Vietnam to spread hope. While there, they also participated in hands-on eye-care activities such as surgeries, screenings, patient visits and education. The ultimate aim was to enable them to demonstrate their outstanding leadership, responsibility and caring sides.
Our Student Ambassadors escorted this little patient to the eye surgery that helped transform her life.
Vietnamese kids tried their hardest to practice eye rehabilitation exercises.
A patient visit in a rural village greatly moved our Student Ambassadors.
