Dalian, China 2010 Flying Eye Hospital Program
China has the second most blind people in the world (behind India) with more than 6 million people blind and more than 12 million with visual impairments. Pediatric eye diseases is on the rise and our objective is to help our partners establish a dedicated pediatric eye care center to serve this northwestern section of the country, which they are currently without. ORBIS aims to build the local capacity of our partners so that they are able to properly treat the eye diseases of their citizens.
