Peter Hickson appointed to The Board of Directors of ORBIS International (English only)

ORBIS International is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Hickson, as a member of its International Board of Directors.

Mr Hickson has been an active member of the ORBIS UK Board of Trustees since 2008. ORBIS UK is an affiliate of ORBIS International, which has its Head Office in New York, as well as offices in Europe, Asia, Africa and Canada. Mr Hickson will now also sit on the International Board and its Finance and Audit committee.

Peter Hickson is chairman of marketing services company Communisis plc, senior independent director of London & Continental Railways, and a non-executive director of Kazakhmys plc and Chemring plc.  He was chairman of Anglian Water Group from 2003 until 2009 and non-executive director of Scottish Power plc from 2006 to 2007, Marconi Corporation from 2004 to 2007 and RAC plc from 1994 to 2002.  He was group finance director of Powergen plc from 1996 to 2002.

Mr Hickson says,"Since joining the ORBIS UK board, it is clear that this global charity, working to enable eye care teams in developing countries to restore the sight of some of the world's most impoverished people, is truly worthwhile work. I am proud to offer my time to such an inspiring organisation and take on this new role as a member of the International Board with great enthusiasm."
