To help minimize worsening myopia problems among local primary students, we encouraged youngsters to safeguard for their vision by eating foods that are good for their eyes. Additional engagement took the form of blindfold demos, games and talks that dramatized the many challenges and dangers facing those forced to live their daily lives in darkness.
The campaign's March 21, 2012 kick-off ceremony took place at Ma On Shan Ling Liang Primary School and featured handy eye exercises and dietary tips from "Sight Star" Sugar Club. The day's undisputed highlight came when Sugar Club joined a record-breaking 560 students in participating a blindfold. Everyone involved subsequently vowed to take better care of their eyes when their sight was "restored"!
