Share Christmas joy together with Kids Sight Friends!

ORBIS Kids Sight Friends are more than happy to share the joy of Christmas together as they share their good fortune with visually impaired children. Almost 100 adults and children joined "Kids Sight Friends Christmas Gathering" at the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong on December 11, 2011.

Volunteer clown invited a kid to perform together

The day started with lively acrobatics and magic performance. Our volunteer clown who made all donors nearly choke with laughters. "I hope all of you will continue to spread out joy like me, especially to blind kids in the developing countries. Your regular donation of any size is an excellent way to bring them cheers and hope," said volunteer clown.

Jonathan Lee, the Godfather of Taiwan pop music, went to a sight-saving journey to Gansu last year. Through a video featuring his trip, our donors witnessed the tear-dropping moments of a young strabismus-sufferer whose ill fate was fortunately ended by ORBIS. When the video ended, our donors hug their families and friends to experience the happiness of giving and caring.

Grown-up and young sight-saving heros took "Challenges in the dark"

What followed was "Challenges in the dark"! A number of grown-ups and children were assigned to blindfold themselves and complete different tasks by senses other than vision. Some donors failed and told that they now understood the hardships blind kids suffer and the value of sight.

Participants of "Vietnam Parent-child See-n-Feel Tour" became close friends

To let donors know more about how ORBIS fights against global blindness, our volunteer Ophthalmologist Dr. Emmy Li came to share her heart-stirring experience of recent sight-saving mission in Mongolia. In response to donors' compliment on her efforts against blindness, Dr. Li said, "Thanks. Your help empowers us to restore sight." Five families who joined the "Parent-child See-n-Feel tour" to Vietnam in last summer were also there to share their experiences. One participant could not hold her tears when recalling the scene of newly born babies threatened by eye diseases. Everyone at the party was moved.

The highlight of the event was a presentation of 'Certificate of Recognition' to Kids Sight Friends' loyal monthly donors! Look at the huge smiles on these little faces! We believe they will all continue to support our sight-saving mission!

The party was brought to a beautiful end by the harmonious music performance of five young participants of the "Vietnam Parent-child See-n-Feel Tour".

We look forward to celebrating Christmas with you and your friends this year!
